About The Presenter
- Bea is a tangata whaikaha Māori wahine and CSA and ASA survivor in her early 30’s
- She has worked at the intersection of FV/SV and Health for fifteen years, most notably in SV.
- She began formally working with disabled whānau in the Te Puna Aonui/Whaikaha prototype DAPAR in abuse response, and now works for VisAble in the abuse prevention space.
- Bea is an advocate by nature and has walked alongside many people on their journeys to safe and good lives, she is now really enjoying walking alongside providers, services and organisations to increase capacity and capability in responding to violence against disabled people and ‘Adults at Risk’
- Bea has also served on the MEDSAC Board, was a member of the national CAG for Breast, Bowel and Cervical Screening and works with Police recruits around disability and violence. She also set up the Greater Wellington Region…
