SEXUAL CONSENT: The challenges of meaningful law reform

In this session, Elisabeth will review what her recent research on rape trials demonstrated about the current formulation of sexual consent. Drawing on that, Paulette will discuss incorporating an ‘affirmative’ model of consent into the law and how that might affect the conduct and outcome of trials. We then invite a discussion about effective arguments or approaches to achieving meaningful change in this area.
